3rd. Whew. That could have been much worse. Don't know if I'd call that a good trade, but it's not ridiculous.

Only reason I like the trade is because Duckett is a force inside the 10 and carries the ball well enough in between the 20's to be serviceable. A former first rounder whos been waiting for a chance to win, which he can do in Washington. Regardless of how bad Portis is hurt the NFL is a long season and getting Duckett will help with some of the load. Worst move was trading taylor jacobs. Even though he was yet to break out, I thought he would have been good should Patten have fallin off or gotten injured again.

Duckett could definitely be useful in taking some third down carries that would make it easier on Portis' body. Portis is really tough mentally but the human body can only take so much and he's taken a ton of carries in his early career. I disagree with you on Jacobs. To me he had pretty much established he wasn't going to do anything in the NFL, and we're pretty deep at WR with Moss, Randle El, Lloyd, Patten, Thrash and even Mike Espy. Getting anything for him to me was fine.

Duckett's a great pickup for the 'Skins. He's a power back; he'll take some carries away from Portis in short yardage/goal line situations. By the end of the season, I think he and Portis will have each scored ten rushing touchdowns.

The Redskins would NEVER overpay for a player.

It was a three way deal, Washignton also got Lelie out of Denver

No, Lelie goes to Atlanta, and Denver gets conditional third and fourth round picks. So you better pray Portis doesn't miss significant time leaving Duckett to play, Todd, or Washington could be losing a first rounder.

I'm more concerned about the fantasy implications. Duckett could be taking TDs away from Portis. >_<

This deal also says to me that Portis' shoulder is in very bad shape.
