WWE and Pride?!

Please tell me this is some sort of nightmare. The one saving grace of WWE getting so unbelievably crappy in the past five years is I have had my sweet, sweet UFC and Pride to fill the void. I can only imagine the harm Vince could do to Pride in no time at all, even under the guise of helping it. He's completely disconnected from pro wrestling in 2006, let alone MMA, and the problems with his "pro wrestling" would be even more magnified applied to MMA. Not to mention I think 99 percent of WWE office has no clue what has made Pride successful or what lessons from that to apply to their own promotion. This is scary, scary stuff if you're a fan of Pride.

It's especially scary because they put it on their website.

Glad to see that Vince cares about working with guys who were chased off TV by a magazine claiming they were yakuza.

Screw whatever they can do in this country. The WWE and PRIDE can do huge supershows in Japan. Where WWE did excellent business. I don't see why everyone takes this as such a negative. There's one thing both companies do well, promoting. And when you can promote, you can make money. And if you can deliver, let's say 50% of the time, you're a damn success. So a little less negativity.

Actually, the last WWE trip to Japan was a huge disappointment, drawing only a half crowd for one of two dates at Budokan. That's like 6,000. Pride sells out Saitama Super Arena, a building double that size most events. WWE doesn't bring much to the table in some sort of Japan co-production. Pride is looking to WWE for help in the US, not Japan.
