Booker T

I'm watching the Smackdown Special, and it's hard to believe it's been over seven years since the first Booker/Benoit best of seven. It feels like they are repeating the gimmick too obviously, but upon further reflection many if not most current fans probably don't remember that series. It's a real shame that Booker T never was allowed to reach his full potential in WWE. He was so hot when he came in and feuded with Rock, and I think he had tremendous potential as a main event player. Now he's just kind of there. He's a solid wrestler, but he's never going to reach his full potential.

I tend to agree. I always thought he was a good wrestler. Would they bury Sting the same way if he chose to come to the WWE. I would hate to see him there because they would just destroy him. Just imagine that? Anyways did you watch the end of the Smackdown Special taping on the whole Undertaker Randy Orton and explointing Guerrero thing? I mean whats up wit that can they just let the guy rest in peace.

The end of SmackDown was unbelievable and not in a good way...

I'm digging the Booker/Benoit feud so far. Survivor Series was a solid *** match while the SD Special match was around ***1/2

Booker T was just another victim of Triple H, who at that point was really hitting his stride in holding people down. All the smart money was on Booker T winning the title in their WrestleMania match. The WWE had discussed Booker's arrest record supposedly in preparation of him winning, so there wouldn't be stories of it after he won ("New WWE champ has crimial past"). Also, Triple H was quite racist in his promos, telling Booker to "dance" because that's what "you people" do, so the feeling was you don't have someone make racist comments like that to build a feud and then actually have them go over in the big match.

But then the regular rules never applied to Triple H.

Funny how this ties in with the "nigga" comment. As you said, Vince might be cut more slack if he didn't have such a poor past on these issues. Hell, the Rock is still the only black WWE/World champ if I remember correctly, and many people don't even realize that he's part black.
